British Championships 2023
Youth Girls
Yaz - in her first British Championships she put down two solid passes to finish 18th
Junior Girls
Ava - in the youngest year of a 4 year age category she held her own to finish an impressive 11th
Izzy - also in her first British Championships, and having to overcome a significant delay to the competition as she was about to compete her 2nd pass, held her nerve to complete a clean qualifications and finish 21st
Senior Men
Tom - a massive PB score in qualifications saw Tom progress through to day 2, where he held his nerve to make the top 8 final, and finished an amazing 8th overall
Marshall - 2 good passes in qualifications saw Marshall progress through to the second day of competition in 2nd place. Unfortunately a big mistake on Sunday morning meant he missed out on the top 8 final, finishing 10th
Omo - mistakes in both qualifications passes meant a 17th place
Lewis - after a stunning first qualifications pass unfortunately a large mistake in pass 2 saw Lewis finish 20th
Senior Women
Ruth - continued her outstanding run of results at British Championships. Ruth has been on the podium at each British Championships for the last 3 years. This year she showed an unparalleled level of performance consistency, being ranked 1st or 2nd in every phase of the competition, to finish with the silver medal
Dani - an incredible performance across all her passes over the weekend saw Dani once again make it all the way through to the top 8 final on Sunday. She posted PB DD and overall scores along the way, to finish in an awesome 6th place.
British Gymnastics Master Gymnast Award
Lewis and Omo were also presented their Master Gymnast awards this weekend. This recognises gymnasts who have attending 2 or more Senior World Championships, or World Games, competitions. An outstanding achievement boys!
