When you come to the trial Make sure your son is wearing shorts and a T-shirt, has visited the toilet and has a drink to take into the gym with him. Please arrive at least 10 minutes early. Please note this trial is for boys interested in Competitive Gymnastics only. Any gymnasts who are interested in joining our recreational program please fill out the form on our website under join our club and you will be added to our waiting list.

What happens?
The gymnasts will carry out a number of set skills and tests. During this time their strength, flexibility, body awareness, attitude and work ethic will be assessed.

Gymnasts selected to move to the next stage of the trial will be notified within one week. If you do not hear from us then your child has not been successful this time. You are welcome to try out again in the future.

What is required if my son is Selected?
If your child is selected as a potential squad member they will be invited to join the next trial phase. This involves a 12 week period where we will work on conditioning and basic gymnastics skills. These sessions will be on Wednesday evenings from 5.15-7.15pm. We may want to talk to you about other openings within the Club. For this reason, full completion of the registration form is important.

Our Squads are working towards developing Competitive gymnasts to compete at County, Regional and National level competitions. The training will increase throughout each phase and if selected, gymnasts will be required to train between 6 to 9 hours over 2 or 3 sessions per week and this will steadily increase up to 16+ hours a week over 4 or 5 sessions as they get older. In school holidays gymnasts squad training times may change.

We ask our squad gymnasts to take no more than 3 weeks holiday per year and no more than a 2 week break at any one time.

Competitive gymnastics requires a lot of dedication and commitment from both gymnasts and their families.
